Winter's Lullaby

Happy Winter! This is a song I wrote the other night as I enjoyed brisk winter weather in Texas. This winter is the first snow-less winter I've had in a long time. I thought I would desperately miss the snow, but it turns out I actually love the mild Texas winters (meaning one or two really cold days, and that's about it!) However, the other night as I wrote this piece, I felt like I was sitting inside my house, warming up by a fire, watching snow fall softly outside. It was a peaceful moment in my minds' eye.

I named the piece "Winter's Lullaby" for a few reasons. First of all, it's completely peaceful and I could easily fall asleep listening to it. Also, this winter has been pretty intense across the nation, and I'm sure there are many who would like to sing Winter a lullaby and tell it to go to sleep for a long time so that Spring can arrive! Maybe if we all turn this up loud enough, Winter will indeed drift away into a peaceful slumber and Spring will arrive in all its glory! Just a thought...

Here's Winter's Lullaby:
